At the heart of the system is a large 8-inch tall, 360-degree radial flow air filter constructed with a five-layer Pro 5R oiled cotton gauze media. Its inverted top and increased surface area allow for longer service intervals, while an integrated metal reinforcement structure helps prevent filter collapse under high airflow demand.
The intake housing is a smooth, one-piece sealed design, molded from heat-resistant cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). This material resists heat soak and provides long-term durability in high-temperature environments. aFe’s patent-pending filter-to-housing interface minimizes the number of components, simplifying installation and reducing potential leak points. A clear inspection window is integrated into the housing, allowing filter condition checks without disassembly. Airflow is routed through computer-designed, dyno-tuned intake tubes, also constructed from XLPE for strength and heat resistance. These intake tubes are engineered to maintain proper airflow characteristics while preserving factory-level fitment and clearance.
