Designed specifically for the 2024+ Lexus GX 550, the front camera integrates into the trim surrounding the rearview mirror rather than mounting a separate camera and screen to the windshield. Native 4K Recording with Sony STARVIS 2

The Mangoal's front camera is built around the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678, an 8.3-megapixel image sensor capable of native 3840×2160 4K capture.

That means the GX 550 gets true 4K front recording backed by a sensor with the native resolution to support it—not simply a lower-resolution image processed into a 4K output file.

The benefit isn't just a better-looking video. Higher native resolution can preserve more of the fine detail that matters when reviewing dash cam footage, including license plates, road signs, surrounding vehicles, and objects farther from the camera.

Sony's STARVIS 2 technology is also designed for excellent low-light imaging, while HDR helps retain detail when bright and dark areas appear in the same scene. That's particularly valuable when driving at night, entering or exiting parking garages, or dealing with headlights and other challenging lighting conditions.
